- THE HOUSE -
Finns B&B is located in a Norwegian-style log house. It was built in 1923, as a holiday house
for Grev Christoffer Knuth. The timber was collected after a storm in the south of Sjælland in 1921, and assembled at, Liliendahl, which was the estate of Knuth. Later is was disassembled, and transported to Skagen, where the house was rebuilt on Østre Strandvej 63.
Knuth had an affection for the Norwegian region, Dagalid, and named the house after it.
After Count Knuth, the house has had several owners, after whom the 6 rooms are named : The fisherman, the kommerceråd, the director, Chief Physician and their families. So, the house has many tales to tell..
Skagen Onsdag has a fine article on the house here : "Fra orkan til sommerhus i Skagen"
Dagalid is located in the quiet area, Østerby, close to Sønderstrand, Vippefyret and the museums, but also a short walk from the marina, walking
street & restaurants.
The atmosphere of the house is old-style and cosy. There are 6 rooms. 3 with private toilet and shower, 1 with a private toilet. All rooms are individual and have their own special characteristics.
We have a big living room with a library, record player and fireplace. Also there is a dining room and a quiet garden. All free to use for our guests.
